Studia Slavica is a reviewed scientific journal the origins of which go back to 1993. Until 2017, it was published by the Department of Slavonic Studies at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava and the University of Opole. Since 2002, the Studia Slavica has been published regularly once a year and since 2013 the periodicity increased to two issues a year. The journal publishes original scientific articles from the field of Slavonic literature, Slavonic linguistics, didactics of Slavonic languages, cultural and translation studies and it illustrates the current state and development in the field of Slavonic philology. The journal also includes reviews, information on new publications and a chronicle. Since the very beginning of its existence, all contributions published in the Studia Slavica journal have undergone an independent review procedure. Papers are published in all Slavonic languages, including an English-language abstract and summary. Since 2018, the only publisher of the Studia Slavica journal is the University of Ostrava.

Call for papers:

The deadlines for submissions are 31 March and 31 August.

Language:

All Slavonic languages and/or English with an English abstract, summary and keywords.

Related fields:

The main fields of interest are Slavonic literature, Slavonic linguistics, didactics of Slavonic languages, cultural and translation studies. Besides documenting current developments in research both in the Czech Republic and internationally, the journal also includes reviews of recently published books and reports from international conferences.

Assessment:

All accepted contributions will be evaluated in a double-blind peer-review process. Reviews are provided by at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the given fields. The review process is in accordance with Publishing Ethics and takes into account the necessity for confidentiality in dealing with research data.

No fees or charges are required for processing and being published in the journal.

Backup:

All journals are archived in printed form in the Czech National Library and other libraries in the Czech Republic and abroad and on the internal server systems of the University of Ostrava.

Coverage:

The journal is an officially registered periodical (Czech Ministry of Culture) and is included in the Scopus, ERIH PLUS (European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences), EBSCO Information services and DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) international databases.
